When I first realised I had issues with my hips, I decided to contact PMAS to get a consultation to talk to a surgeon. The turnaround was very quick, and all the staff over the PMAS scheme were terrific throughout the process from start to finish. Within months, I had been up at Kingsbridge Hospital getting my hip arthroscopy surgery where all staff at the hospital were brilliant. I’m delighted I went through them; I’m recovered now and back working to my full potential.

The PMAS scheme in my personal opinion is one of the best things a soldier can pay into.

The DF as a whole will not give you the service and medical assistance that is needed for the job we do on a day to day basis. I was injured badly on a DF exercise that was the fault of the kit and equipment I was issued and if it was not for the PMAS scheme I would still be suffering.

The PMAS scheme in my personal opinion is one of the best things a soldier can pay into.
