I applied for the PMAS scheme through PDFORRA and experienced a high level of proficiency and professionalism, especially from the PMAS scheme staff. The injury I had was a medial meniscus tear of the left knee, and I underwent my operation at Kingsbridge Hospital in Belfast. I had an initial consultation to ascertain the extent of the injury and determine the date for the operation to remove the damaged tissue. The process was very fluid, and the operation date was set for 6-8 weeks after the consultation.

The staff at Kingsbridge Hospital were excellent, from checking in at the front desk to the medical professionals who carried out the procedure; the service was of the highest standard.

I am very thankful to have received such professional service, and I am especially grateful for the work and time Michael from the PMAS team has afforded me to receive this level of care.

The PMAS scheme in my personal opinion is one of the best things a soldier can pay into.

The DF as a whole will not give you the service and medical assistance that is needed for the job we do on a day to day basis. I was injured badly on a DF exercise that was the fault of the kit and equipment I was issued and if it was not for the PMAS scheme I would still be suffering.

The PMAS scheme in my personal opinion is one of the best things a soldier can pay into.
